Founded by Sandra Sunny, Thanima was inspired by childhood memories of watching her mother drape sarees with effortless beauty. As she grew older, Sandra noticed a growing shift in the market toward polyester blends that lacked comfort, breathability, and the soul of traditional textiles. Leaving behind a promising career, she set out to return sarees to their roots.

Working closely with artisans who practise age-old techniques like hand block printing, Thanima embraces slow, thoughtful craftsmanship. Each saree is made using azo-free colours, ensuring a process that is gentle on the environment and the people behind it.
